Theurgy is something the equivalent of unifying with a deity or a divine concept in order to do something. So that unification may happen as the result of an prayer or may be something where you transcend through time and space, etc. But in all cases, there is somewhere where that magic is coming from directly, and there is some means to access it. Theurgy has varying degrees of ceremony, but thaumaturgy can also have high levels of ceremony as well. It’s just really the origins of the magic.
Thaumaturgy gets heavily shit on by Theurgists from time to time, because of this lack of needing to go to this divine or philosophically spiritual place in order to invoke or create the magic. It’s why thaumaturgy often gets called and mixed in with snake oil salesman and stage magicians. It’s often associated with illusions.
Thaumaturgy is seen as not real because it doesn’t have a divine backing, it doesn’t have a “place” where the magic is coming from - so to speak.
Which is why when people lean on the description of “we’re not stage magicians, but we do low magic.” they are harkening back to this shit. They are saying “we’re not like those other low magic practitioners, like those fakers over there.”
Low magic is directly associated with Thaumaturgy.
It’s one of the reasons I don’t mix well with high magic, because much of high magic relies heavily on religious influences (which already, meh), but also because in a lot of high magic/theurgy, they have asserted the right to declare what is and what isn’t real magic. And I just don’t have time for that.
I didn’t know about this distinction, and I never heard of thaumaturgy before. I did some Googling, and it’s a really interesting concept - and certainly more appealing to me than theurgy for the same reason you describe: the lack of needing to go to this divine or philosophically spiritual place in order to invoke or create the magic.
I also like Isaac Bonewits’ definition of the word:
“The use of magic for nonreligious purposes; the art and science of ‘wonder working;’ using magic to actually change things in the physical world.”
The concept of “the science of magic” is something that I’ve been exploring on my own, and I didn’t know there was a term for it.
Energy cords are things that tie us to other people, spirits, and things in our life. They form for many reason and in different ways, but this post is about removing them so you can remove unwanted people from your life. Cords can be removed in a bunch of different ways. Just removing someone from your life weakens or removes some cords, but this post is about speeding up the removal process through energy work. (this is all from my experience with energy work and cord cutting, you might see or experience the process differently.)
First thing you need to do is identify the person you are cutting ties with, and all the ties you might have to them. For example, I had a EX who left my life years ago and i did a cord cutting for our relationship, but i didn’t notice at the time that there were more cords connect me to them because they were more then just a person i dated. They meant a lot to me in different ways like how they were the only person i could talk to about certain things and we had built different aspects to our relationship outside of romantic ties that i ignored because on an unconscious level i didn’t want to give up that significance they had to me. This can take time to really figure out all the different roles a single person could have played in your life so don’t rush the process.
Once you know the different aspects to your relationship to this individual it’s time to go to work and start finding and removing them. I begin by doing the basic like grounding and centering myself and then start meditating until i reach a trance-like state.
Once in a deep meditative state you need to go out of body or visualize this person standing across from you. If you go out of body “find” the person you’re looking for and get a real feel for there energy at this moment. If you are visualizing them standing across from you pick an environment around you that makes you feel comfortable and in control and visualize that place. You need to really be able to create the feel of that person in your mind. This can be done by bringing up memories and/or by using things that belonged to them that you still have. It need’s to be an honest portrayal of that person, including the good and the bad.
Once you can feel and see that person in front of you start locating and/or visualizing these cords. You might notice there are more then one cord for each connection to this person you are cutting, this just means the bond between you and them was built up over time.
now the removal process begins. depending on the cord you are removing it might be better to cut them, or relocate them to other people in your life so you don’t leave an energy hole to be filled. When removing a cord you need to cut BOTH ENDS. This is very important. If you only cut your end or their end it leave the cord just hanging there for someone or something else to latch onto to or it can just reattach to the person. You can remove these cord by putting them out of your body and their body with your bare hands. This can be good when you have some pent up aggression for this person to really feel it being removed your you and their chest with your own (energy) hands. You can imagine/use anyway you want to remove or cut them, just make sure you do it from both sides of the cord and then obliterate it. I like to make them dissolve.
If you are relocating a cord from one person to another start the process again from the beginning with this new person, but you wont need to figure out all the aspect of your relationship to this person. take some time to really consider things before you implant one cord into another person. Just because you feel a certain way about someone doesn’t mean that want that same type of bond. It’s always a good thing to ask the other person before doing this. If you have a thought cord like this strong sense of love or trust that cutting will only cause a lot more pain reattach the cord to someone who you ALREADY have a similar connection to. Take the end out from the person you are removing this connection too and implant it into this other person. Watch it take root inside them and feel it change inside you to fit this new person.
The most important thing you need to do now to end this processes is to do some healing on yourself, and hopefully the other person too. Even tho you might not like them, leaving someone energy holes that didn’t occur on their own before you messed with things isn’t cool. So fill these tiny hole with healing energy of some kind. use any method you want. It might also be good to have someone you trust do some healing for you and them too to really fill in some of the energy damages that might have occurred.
Come out of your meditation and return to normal activities. it might be good to take it slow and do some more grounding and centering because you might have just altered some important connections you relayed on more heavily then you through. take it slow for a day or too and practice some self care because cutting cords can be some heavy emotional stuff.
I’m sure I’m not alone being someone deeply effected by the moon to the point where I have emotional episodes due to which phase it’s in. Like the seasons I also adapted my practice to go in the flow which the moon moves in in order to be in balance. Hopefully this practice can help you too if you find this of value.
Major Phases
New Moon This is the most important phase for me. On the first day the moon enters this phase I cleanse my space energetically and take time to do a ritual bath (or shower with a soap spell if I don’t have time for a full bath). The theme is energy cleansing and starting new. Cleanse the altar, cleanse the crystals, cleanse yourself, set up wards- depending on the element of the moon I cleanse with incense, candle, salt or mist (Or whatever feels right at the time. Usually the element and quality of the sign shows itself more in the bath than in the cleansing of my space but it’s just an example). The New Moon is also full of cerebral energy for me. The moon rules emotions and inner thoughts and I personally feel the new moon has more power in influencing my mind as the full has more power in influencing my raw emotions. Depending on which sign the new moon is in, I focus my mental energy towards it’s message and the direction I should focus on for the next lunar cycle. Typically the new moon rests in whatever sign the sun is in so I focus on the zodiac season’s energy (like if it’s Libra season, Taurus season etc). The next week following (waxing crescent week) is mentally figuring out and visualizing how I will bring what I want and what I need to focus on in manifesting in my life.
Full Moon The Full moon tends to be the phase everyone focuses on but its energy can be overwhelming to me since it heightens my emotions and makes me feel irrational. The Full Moon has intense energy and it’s theme is perfect for charging and energy work. Charge magical tools and crystals, charge yourself, channel the moon’s element and sign in a focused meditation and absorb it’s energy. Use the powerful energy lingering to cast spells. I find it easier to manifest something on this day perhaps because my emotions are heightened and a lot of spell casting and success depends on how I feel. Other activities to engage the moon’s power and emotional influence is creating art or releasing pent up emotions through dance or listening to music. The Full Moon is a phase personally for me, that focuses on the magic of art and how art can help release certain emotions especially if the moon is trying to highlight a hidden or repressed feeling. Take the evening to draw, put on music to fit the mood and use art to explore yourself or do shadow work. If you enjoy drinking, enchant a cocktail or enjoy a beer to help bring to light certain emotions and maybe do drunken tarot or do some journaling to document how you feel and help with further introspection later. You can do this all solitary or gather some witchy friends to get drunk and scream your emotions into the void (I mean wolves howl at the full moon, so why can’t you?) Then put on some music, do some art, dance your feelings away or cry together because you feel irrationally moody and out of control.
Minor Phases
I don’t do anything in particular for these actual days but their weeks are important to me.
First Quarter The week following the first quarter is dedicated to spells of growth, prosperity, manifestation, momentum and drive. It follows the week of the waxing crescent which is dedicated to visualization and setting goals. First quarter initiates action for the waxing gibbous week. If there’s something I wish to give power to, it’s casted on this week.
Last Quarter The week following the Last Quarter is dedicated to cleaning, purging and banishing. I make sure to clean my space thoroughly and throw out old things, ward unwanted energy and try to distance myself from things I dislike, drink more water- eat less red meat and wheat (for personal health issues to help with my digestion)- drink cleansing teas, and focus my energy on release. Spells to cast on this week are warding, banishing, ending or distancing.
I was having a private conversation with another Tumblr user which branched off into the topic of spirit work. I felt some of the opinions I expressed seemed worthy of being shared publicly, so here’s my take on spirit work…
What is a Spirit?
In my understanding, a spirit is [basically] the energetic imprint of a physical manifestation. Spirits can be residual energy of things that are dead, or dynamic energy of things that are still very much alive. In fact, these seemingly opposing life and death energies overlap one another in a way, but I won’t get into all that here. Spirit is ultimately what animates physical form– everything has a spirit in my belief, some more subtle and dormant that others.
What is Spirit Work?
Spirit work can be defined as so many numbers of things– from working with deities to communicating with plants and animals to conjuring the dead. It typically involves consciously convening with some type of spirit for whatever reason.
Everyone is Different
Everyone communicates with spirits in different ways and in varying intensities. Some people are acutely receptive to them, hence the many convincing stories of unmistakable spirit encounters. But for most people, including myself, it’s a subtle sense that is usually easier to ignore or “shut off” than acknowledge and sustain. In all honesty, I don’t do much spirit work, as in actively communicating, working, and building relationships with spirits– it doesn’t come naturally for me so it requires a lot of practice and effort that I don’t always have energy for, so it’s not a huge area of focus for me at this point in time. But many times it just sort of happens, either spontaneously or inherently as part of my practice.
My General Method
When I do actively attempt to communicate with spirits it is usually just a process of meditating for a few minutes– clearing my head and getting in a receptive and objective state of mind. I usually have particular spirit in mind I intend to target, but I try not to declare that intention/make that connection before I clear my head. Once I feel “open” enough, I typically burn sage or other herbs and evoke the nine directional powers, reinforce protections, etc, then state my intention and try to make a connection.
How I Sense and Communicate With Spirits
How one communicates with spirits typically reflects how they sense them. I am a “feeling” type. I can feel them, somewhere deep within my chest, but very rarely do I ever “see” anything I feel confident calling a spirit.
The people who often have the most convincing experiences tend to be “seeing” types it seems. My partner and his son are receptive to seeing spirits– they could probably be considered “naturals”.
I’m not usually as receptive as they are, even in my “feeling” aspect; I usually have to actively tap into it, hence the use of the little meditation ritual I described. Even then, I don’t always get results. But how they communicate to me is in direct relation to how I sense them. I feel them– sometimes it’s an empathic impression of pure emotion, other times it’s loosely articulated thoughts, spontaneous imagery, or vague concepts that I have to translate into words to make sense of. It’s all very internal and “feely” for me though, which makes detection a bit obscure.
Discernment
Now, discerning whether or not I’m actually communicating with a spirit is tricky for me. I can be rather skeptical (especially of my own experiences– ironic, right?). But there have been a handful of occasions when I just knew, half of which happened before I began actively practicing any kind of spirit work. From my experience, the best way to develop confidence in your own judgment is to really get to know yourself– your thoughts patterns, your emotional tides, your behavioral tendencies, etc. Being intimately familiar with your own internal processes is tremendously helpful when distinguishing between a thought/feeling/vision that you created (i.e. your “imagination”) and externally influenced extrasensory information (i.e. a message from a spirit). If you can identify the space where your thoughts and ideas originate (a skill best developed via meditation), it becomes a thousand times easier to determine when you are in fact perceiving information communicated by a spirit.
Making Pacts?
It is never necessary to make any kind of pacts in order to communicate or work with spirits. While it can be helpful in certain circumstances, especially once you become further acquainted with the practice and the spirits you work with, it’s never something I would recommend to anyone who isn’t entirely confident in doing so.
this is such a huge part of our craft, and i think its about time we talk about it.
a side note before we start, there is an amazing video that personally inspired me by a witch (herspeak) that you can watch here! i will include some of the information she gives in her video in this post for those of you who don’t have the time to watch!
first off… grimoire? book of shadows? whats the difference? what on earth even is a book of mirrors??wait… there’s even more??
well first lets quickly talk about the different types of books!
grimoire: a textbook of magick, a reference book filled with anything you desire or need to remember (lists, correspondences, how-to’s, spells)
book of shadows: for wiccans/pagans, this can be seen as more religious, but it is typically more known for its personal/spiritual journal aspects (religious or not); some may use it for references also
book of mirrors: a book of reflections, for recording experimentation and its results including successes and failures (some like to keep their book of shadows pure with only successes)
book of light: a book used usually by wiccans/pagans that is used by eclectics, referring to light as knowledge; used for notes and information often to be shared whereas a book of shadows is personal and private (sort of makes me think of a less organized/personal grimoire)
the tree: a seax-wica (an anglo-saxon paganism) version of a book of shadows
book of ways: a devotional book for wiccans/pagans
(of course all of these things are up to further interpretation!)
back in the day when witchcraft was more ruled by covens, only one spell book was required for each coven, but now that witchcraft is often a solitary and/or personal path, witches are often encouraged to have their own! most witches will have either a book of shadows or grimoire. some witches will have both, and some will have one book that includes the aspects of both and call it one or the other.
let’s start with the basic thing nobody talks about… the book itself!
what should you use? well first off, you don’t need some big, expensive, and fancy leather book straight out of hocus pocus. if its so fancy that you aren’t going to work in it, don’t use it! you could use…
a sketchbook
you could make a book (a traveler’s notebook is a great idea)
an online book
a binder and insert pages
an old thrift store book and paint over the pages
you could even write and paint on paper and paste all over your walls and work space and make a room your ‘book’
you could choose something that relates to your field of magick if you have a defined one, get creative!
make sure your book a reflection of you. but remember, we are what makes books come alive. reading is what makes languages have purpose. without you there to read it, your book is meaningless. the connection between you and your book is beyond special from the first moment you begin working!
so where on earth do i start? if you already have one, what’s holding you back from working more?
well what interests you? if you don’t know yet, here is a wonderful masterpost of types of magick! find what you like, what sounds cool to you, what resonates with you, research it! (maybe make an entry about it and your discoveries!)
once you know your interests, don’t waste time on things you aren’t interested in. if you don’t care about herbal magick, don’t write down a seven page list of all herbs and their properties. i personally had to retry creating a grimoire a few times in order to learn that lesson.
so how do i bond and grow comfortable with my book? how do i create a connection? how do i give it my personal touch?
do what makes you happy.
create your own aesthetic. maybe ask friends around you what your aesthetic seems to be if you don’t know yourself. don’t follow that big ole leather book stereotype unless you like it. if you do, another great idea for aging your pages are coffee and tea stains on your paper.
sleep with your book under your pillow! bond with it like you would your tarot deck. carry it around throughout the day. let it become a companion.
your book isn’t just a place to write about your craft, infuse your craft! if you like lunar magick, bathe it in moonlight. if you like herbal magick, spray your pages with an herb and water mix.
don’t stress about organization or a table of contents yet. you can put an index at the end when you know you’re done. its your book so you’ll probably have a sense of where things are anyways, but if you’re forgetful like me, use some labelled bookmarks!
in fact, don’t stress about it at all if you can! your book shouldn’t stress you out. mistakes happen. keep negative energy away. you and your book are a conjoined, powerful force! you can paste over pages, paint over them, or even just rip them out. in the wonderful words of herspeak in the aforementioned video, nothing is special until you say it is.
remember, it might take a couple tries to get it right, and that’s okay! you might have to make a couple throughout your lifetime to hold all the knowledge you learn, so no worries.
don’t just copy and paste other peoples’ information into your book, that isn’t how you learn. take note of things that are important to you. are you memorizing or understanding? allow yourself to understand. if it shines and you find it important, write this information in your own words and in a setup you enjoy.
you don’t have to be an artist to make a beautiful book! your book is already beautiful, unique, and magickal because its yours!
here’s some ideas for pages in your book!
correspondence lists. i definitely think color correspondences are important for just about every witch! what do these things mean to you? how do they make you feel and what do you relate them to? do this with other things you find interesting!
devote a page to your sun and moon sign or maybe you and your partners signs and how they interact.
create a protection sigil just for your book.
make a page about your totem animal/spirit animal. please don’t appropriate these terms though, you can also use daemon, patronus, eomkin, or even just your personal corresponding animal.
you could make a page for each holiday, its history and dates, and add a paper pocket into the page filled with recipes.
you could collage things that make you think of a deity you like whether you’re secular or whether you participate. if enjoy and appreciate a deity, give em a page! if you worship or work with one or many, dive in much deeper and show how that relationship affects you.
paste in pictures from books or parts of posters that show what magick means to you.
practice spirit work? draw the spirit! collage the spirit. find art that makes you think of the spirit and pop it in there.
press plants you find, tape them in, bring a little greenery into your book. label them if you like. give them your own names if you don’t know your plants well.
write your dreams out, decorate in a way that feels right, use colors according to how it made you feel.
draw out the ingredients you want to use in a spell/potion/oil. dab a bit of the creation on the page.
make a page for your familiars. list any spells for them, where you found/adopted them, their breed and things about them, what’s their favorite snack, and if your familiar is cooperative, maybe try to get a paw/nose print!
make a pendulum chart.
find one of those adult coloring books. tear a few pages and stick them in either randomly or maybe in a page about meditation. when stressed, use it as a meditative practice.
chakras, what they mean to you, correspondences, and which you may need to work on. here is a fun test you can take that tells you if your chakras are under-active, over-active, or open.
any fictional/real witches or wizards that stood out to you? why?
write about magickal experiences you had as a child you can’t explain today. what about imaginary friends and were they imaginary?
get geeky. make spells about video games! inspire spells based on favorite characters and abilities or get inspiration from your favorite playable mages! get really creative with this one.
make a page about past lives if you know of any.
what do the elements mean to you? what are your favorites? which do you feel connected to?
stick envelopes in there and put recipes, spreads, all sorts of things in there to save some pages! utilize fold out pages for long chunks of information.
do you cast circles? what do you use? what do you think the energy looks like? the color? the shape if you don’t see it as a circle? draw the seen and unseen.
make a page about your spiritual or psychic gifts. how did you discover them?
make a list of things to research. cross them out as you do.
print out aesthetically pleasing pictures you find portray you and your craft. collage your personal aesthetic/witchy moodboard
i could list on and on, but i hope i’ve given you some creative inspiration! make your book what you want! keep researching and gain inspiration from others if you’re ever lost. feel free to message me if you ever have questions!
A spell to draw happiness to those you care about.
Gather:
jar with a lid
dried orange peel
cinnamon (sticks or ground is fine)
basil
Himalayan pink salt
quartz
paper
yellow string
pen/pencil (preferably yellow, but doesn’t need to be)
scissors (to cut the paper and string with)
Begin by cutting the paper into small strips and writing on them the names of those you wish to draw happiness toward. Roll each of these into a small scroll and tie them securely with pieces of the yellow string. As you do this, for each one say or think the following:
May joy and peace follow [them]*, all the days of [their]* lives. *use appropriate pronouns for each individual
Place each of these scrolls into your jar. Add in the pieces of dried orange peel, cinnamon, basil, Himalayan pink salt, and quartz, gently mixing the ingredients together. Place the lid on the jar (but do not seal - you may wish to add more names at a later date), and say over it three times:
May happiness find each upon their path, and may their joy be eternal.
For all my pro hex/curse/jinx users: Always be sure to cast a protection spell on yourself and cleanse before and after! No point risking any harm to yourself.
I know i get terribly bored very quickly (gemini curse lmao) so i find that if i dive into stuff i’m interested in learning about, that it will tend to hold my attention longer and help me get back into the swing of things! So in my example one of my first things i researched when i was starting out was about Crystals and their properties/uses in magic! From there i was able to use that as a sort of base jumping off point for my magical practice! And if you find something you were learning about doesn’t seem like it fits you/your style/ your practice then drop it and move on to the next thing!
*Ask Questions!*
No Questions Are Stupid Questions
No Questions Are Stupid Questions
No Questions Are Stupid Questions!!!! Questions mean you care enough to try and learn more about something! I’m pretty much always here and will try my best to answer as best as i am able And if I can’t i will do my best to help direct you to someone more knowledgeable!
*TAKE YOUR TIME!*
This one is important because most of the time i feel like i see baby/beginner witches try really REALLY hard to “reach the same level” as other witches as quickly as possible when in reality that just hurts THEIR path in the long run. Your path is your own, take it at your own pace. Enjoy the little bumps along the way and find the “Roses of your Path” (the things that make you want to stop and appreciate them: the satisfaction of calling your first Storm, the chill of the night air when you set out your first Full Moon Water, the spark when you find that one crystal.) Enjoy it. Enjoy your path, Enjoy your Craft.
*Use the Things you Already Own!*
Another thing i see beginners getting hung up on (myself included, i was/am extremely guilty of this lol) is wanting to go out and buy a ton of supplies. try looking around your house for things that can be re purposed. Old Spaghetti Sauce Jars can be cleaned and used as spell jars, deity altars/shrines, or ingredient storage! Take pictures from old magazines and make a collage Altar on paper! Use a composition notebook as your Book Of Shadows! Your old broken glasses case can be used as a case for your portable altar! Dig around and see if there are extra candles you haven’t used in a while! Wash out and save those eggshells from your cooking to use as spell ingredients! It takes some creative thinking but you can reclaim pretty much anything for your craft!
*Look for Bargains!* For one thing prices can be outrageous for actual craft materials: like Crystals and Gems? Truly truly truly outrageous. So keep your eyes peeled for bargains and deals! Some of the best places to look for things on the cheap would be Dollar Stores, Flea Markets, Thrift Shops, Garage/Estate Sales! Most of the time in those places you can try haggling to get things at a cheaper price (or get more for less.) It really just depends on the place but you can find the most interesting assortments of things! Keep your eyes peeled in your general day to day life as well see if there are sales at your local grocery store for seed packets, seasonal items/holiday items (look for the sales afterwords to really save haha) The internet is a great place to look, i know Ebay has sellers who sell raw crystals/ crystal chunks by the pound. There’s also places to buy spices in bulk too .
*Don’t Compare Your Path to Others!* Your Path is Your Path, Their Path is Their Path. Being online and part of the witchy community in tumblr means that there are a lot of ideas being shared from people’s paths and their views on how they think magic should be practiced. What works for them might not work for you and vice versa. Only YOU can decide what is best for you and your path. and on that note:
*Figure Out What YOU Want Out of Your Path!* When you get some time, sit down and write out all the things you want to get from your path and think critically about how you want magic to work in your daily life. Do you want it to be Super Formal or more casual? perhaps a mix of the two? Test the waters! Try things once and if you don’t like it then you know and can move on to the things that work better for your lifestyle/craft/path! Some examples from my list that i can think of right now would be: -Better knowledge of Crystals/ Crystal remedies and their healing properties -Daily research -aka tumblr- -Appreciating Nature more (Whenever i go on walks with my dog i try to pick up some litter if/when i see it) -Daily Deity appreciation -aka deity aesthetic reblogs to @theemeraldgod & Pintrest-

Anyways thanks for sending this in! I’ve been meaning to make one of these for a while and this finally gave me the excuse ^^
I came down with an annoying cold today: sore throat, tired, achy, irritable… So, in addition to the usual extra rest and vitamin C, I thought, why not help things along with a spell?
The following is not a spell for healing; it is a spell for killing the thing that ails you - a curse for whatever virus or bacteria dares sicken you.
- Instructions -
Gather:
1 small jar
salt(s) (I used a combination of table salt, garlic salt, and a handful of pieces of the large, chunky ice-melting salt that sits in a bucket by the door to my apartment building)
garlic (in whatever form you prefer - I used powdered)
crushed red pepper (or some other spicy ingredient to give the spell more kick)
your own sick self
black thread or candle for sealing
Place the ingredients (excluding yourself, of course) into the jar. Amounts can be whatever seems best to you.
Looks like some kind of pretty sand garden, doesn’t it?
Now cough, sneeze, spit, or some combination of these, into the jar. Toss those germs into the mix! They shall serve as markers for their brethren.
Having done that, place the lid of the jar on tightly. Now shake the damn thing. Shake it vigorously. Pour all your anger and frustration and hatred for the germs into that shaking motion. Rattle ‘em up. And while you do, say the following words:
Be decimated, Be desiccated, And trouble me no longer!
Bind the jar with black string and/or seal with wax (I didn’t have a black candle on hand, so I opted for the string).
Keep the jar around, within easy reach, if convenient. You can shake it as often as you like. Look at the salt and imagine the germs shriveling up and dying - a satisfying revenge for the trouble they have caused you.
Important Note: This spell is meant only to help you overcome what ails you. It is not a substitute for taking care of yourself. You still need to rest, eat, and drink properly. And if the illness is serious, SEE A DOCTOR! Don’t rely on a curse to do it all for you. Being well is about more than killing germs anyway.
Disclaimer: this spell is NOT mine, it is coming straight form a book by Skye Alexander.
Tools:
1 green candle and 1 white candle
2 candle holders
An object that represents your desire
1 deck of tarot cards
Matches or Lighter
Best Time to Perform This Spell:
During the Wax Moon
The Spell:
Cast a circle around the area where you will perform the spell. Put your candles at opposite ends of your altar. Between them, place an object that signifies your desire to increase your income. It could be a coin, a dollar bill, or a piece of jewelry, or something else that suggests wealth.
From your deck of tarot cards, select the Ace of Pentacles (sometimes called coins or discs), which represents new financial undertakings and opportunities. Place it in front of the white candle. In front of the green candle, put the Ten of Pentacles. Sometimes called the “Wall Street” card, the ten symbolizes a financial windfall. In the middle, between the two candles, place the Nine of Cups - the “Wish” card - and the Star card, which symbolizes hope.
Light the candles and say:
“The money I spend
and the money I lend
comes back to me
in multiples of three.”
See money flowing to you form all directions. The more vivid you can make your visualization, the faster your wish will manifest. End the spell by extinguishing the candles and giving thanks. Open the circle. Allow everything to remain on your altar over night.
Once again this is NOT my spell! This came from the book “the modern guide to witchcraft by Skye Alexander
Hey I'm just starting out with sigil magick so I'm looking through info and I just wanted to know if you guys had any blog/people recommendations off the top of your head because I trust your input, if it's not too much trouble thank you!
Have you been feeling down? Too tired to get up and do things. Or that no matter how much normal witch-y cleansing you do, there is always something going on? Well, from my experiences, running around with a broom or vacuum smacking those dirt away really helps!
Here are some ways I clean up the energies in my house. If you have any additions add them on! I’d love to hear them and I’m sure others would love it too!
Vacuuming - Oh the smell of a room after it’s been vacuumed. Cleaner but also a little empty. Vacuuming is a good “lets whip the slate clean of everything”. It sucks up the energies in your home leaving it clean and blank. After a good vacuuming is a perfect time to do some home blessings and protections!
Sweeping - Banishing! Now go go go, the broom shrieks as you brush away dirt and old leaves. Sweeping is a perfect way to banish energies. Not suck them up and get ride of them. Oh no, banish them. Forcibly remove them from your place cuz those nastiest aren’t allowed to stay around. You can also put charms on the broom so it lays down goodness as it banishes the not so good stuff.
Window Cleaning - Opening the mind to inspiration and clear thinking. Whipping away the muck from the windows allows the home to be charged and energy flow in smoothly. It also can bring in more inspiration and clearer intuition.
Cleaning The dishes - Time to help harmony move around. Spreading love and charm with eat spoon, plate, and bowls. Allowing fulfillment of the stomach and the soul! Wipe away the muck of the day, and bring in time to for better days!
That’s all I can think of right now. But all of these simple things are great ways to move away from the past and start a fresh slate. After or while you clean is a perfect time to light some warm comfy smells. Good luck with you happy cleansing!
Hello! I hope you are having a good day. I am very interested in witchcraft, and I want to initiate in it, but I do not know how. Can you recommend me some books to read about it or maybe some practices I should start doing? Thank you! I really like your blog.
Unfortunately, I do not have books to recommend for you, first because none of the books I found resonated with me practice wise ( I read lots of crap) and second because I don’t know what are your beliefs, or what kind of practice you are interested in ( if you know already). I would start by that, looking at the practices that speak to you ( for example: do you want your witchcraft practice to also be religious or not?do you Want to work with nature? Elements? Etc). You do not have to define tour practice precisely right now, of course, but it will at least give you a direction to go to.
… or internet?
I found that the internet is a great source of information when you want to learn about something, and you can easily search for the different types of Witchcraft there, read articles and blogs about it, and in the end ( super important) forge your own opinion! And then, it might be worth buying books that will really fit what you want your practice to be!
And then what?
Once you have an idea where to go, you can start collecting information on the practice/aspect of witchcraft you are interested in: visualization, herbs, crystals, planets, etc. The internet, books, blogs, your own intuition, the sources are many!
Don’t be afraid to ask questions! But also, don’t be afraid to use Google. A question like “what is moon water”, “what is lavender associated with”, etc, can be easily answered with a quick Google search. I promise.
And don’t believe everything someone tells you. There is not one way to do things and one only! It is all about what works for you!
And once informed, having all the tools in hand, you can start working on spells! Growing your practice, maybe changing direction, adding new aspects to it,etc. For example, I discovered sea witchcraft years after practicing… and it instantly clicked in me, and I added this aspect to my practice!

Dandelion seeds for wishing. Traditionally, you make a wish and blow them away, but I like the fluff. So I am keeping the fluff and will probably give it a shake every so often. Satisfying.
Incredible idea. I think dandelions are so magickal. I’m going to use this idea, thanks for posting!
Great concept.
I tend to do this with my mixture of incense ashes & crushed eggshells. Good so see this option with dandelion seeds.
I love dandelion seeds! I keep them in a jar, and when I want to make a wish, I carefully pick out a couple, and go outside, and blow them away (or let them go in the wind).
These are also good in spells to add a little extra luck.
